K-Beauty · Current visitor information

The in-person Korea Beauty Festival program at HiKR Ground ended on July 19. The only festival component scheduled through September 30 is the online KBF special promotion, which links travelers to beauty, wellness, accommodation and tour offers on participating booking platforms.

The date distinction is easy to miss. The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) gives the overall 2026 Korea Beauty Festival, or 코리아뷰티페스티벌, a June 24–September 30 period. On the same official page, however, each component has its own schedule. The Beauty House, opening event and business program finished in June or July. The later end date belongs to the Global OTA Special Pavilion.

The practical answer

Do not go to HiKR Ground expecting the festival’s personal-color booths, makeup demonstrations or one-to-one K-beauty classes. Those were part of the Beauty House. If your travel date is on or before September 30, use the official KBF promotion page to compare bookable offers online.

The four schedules behind one festival date

The official 2026 Korea Beauty Festival overview separates the event into four programs. Reading those lines individually resolves the apparent contradiction between a festival advertised through September and an experience venue that closed in July.

Program Official schedule Current meaning for visitors
KBF Beauty House June 24–July 19 at HiKR Ground Ended. The physical experience zones and classes are no longer a reason to visit the building.
KBF Opening Night June 24 at HiKR Ground Ended. This was a single opening event, not a nightly public program.
KBF Connection Day June 25 at The Shilla Seoul Ended. This was an industry networking program for brands, buyers, media and tourism professionals.
KBF Special Promotions June 24–September 30, online Scheduled through September 30. Offers are presented through participating global online travel agencies.

The September date therefore describes access to a promotional booking channel, not continued admission to a Seoul festival hall. That difference should determine your next action: open a booking page if you want a beauty experience, but remove the former Beauty House from an itinerary.

What the remaining online promotion offers

The official KBF Special Promotions page describes an online pavilion rather than a single ticket. Participating travel platforms host their own campaign pages with beauty experiences, wellness programs, accommodation, local tours and related benefits. KTO lists Mafengwo, KONEST, Creatrip, Klook, KKday, Trip.com, Traveloka, WAUG and Hanyumang as partners.

A separate VISITKOREA report on the 2026 program said the travel-product exhibition offered access to more than 800 K-beauty experience programs across areas such as makeup, hair, skincare and wellness. That number describes the breadth promoted for the festival; it does not guarantee that every item, time slot or discount remains available on every partner site. Inventory belongs to the individual platform and service provider.

The online pavilion is most useful as a filter. Instead of beginning with a broad search for “best K-beauty in Seoul,” you can compare services assembled around an international-traveler audience. Language support and a familiar booking interface may be easier to identify. The KBF label does not make the offers interchangeable, so the service page still matters more than the campaign banner.

Check the booking, not only the promotion

Beauty travel products can look similar in a thumbnail while delivering very different experiences. A personal-color session, makeup application, makeup lesson, scalp consultation and spa treatment solve different visitor tasks. Start by naming the result you want: a palette to use later, a finished look for photographs, a technique you can repeat, or simple relaxation during the trip.

  1. Confirm the exact service. Read what happens during the appointment and what does not. “Makeup experience” may mean a demonstration, partial application, full application or lesson.
  2. Check language support. A platform may display the listing in English while the provider offers limited English during the appointment. Look for the language stated for the actual service.
  3. Read the duration and location. Note the meeting point, nearest station, arrival time and whether the listed duration includes preparation. Do not build a tight itinerary around a vague neighborhood label.
  4. Separate inclusions from optional purchases. Check whether a report, palette card, photograph, product, styling add-on or tip is included. A low headline price can cover a narrower session.
  5. Review cancellation and refund terms. The OTA processes the booking, but provider rules may control late arrival, rescheduling and no-shows. Save the confirmation and contact instructions offline.

Compare the final checkout amount in the same currency and for the same date. A percentage-off badge is not enough to establish value when two listings cover different durations or deliverables. The stronger choice is the service whose scope, communication and schedule fit your trip, even when another page displays a larger discount.

Cosmetic guidance and medical care are different bookings
The festival promotion spans beauty, wellness and medical-tourism-related categories. A color analysis or retail skin scan is not a medical diagnosis. If a listing involves an invasive procedure, prescription treatment or a health condition, check the provider’s credentials, consultation process, risks, aftercare and cancellation terms before paying.

HiKR Ground is open, but the Beauty House is not

HiKR Ground continues to operate as a Korea Tourism Organization cultural and visitor-information space at 40 Cheonggyecheon-ro in central Seoul. Its ongoing operation can create another misunderstanding: an open building does not mean that the temporary Korea Beauty Festival zones are still installed.

The current HiKR Ground information page lists the first through fourth floors from 10:00 to 20:00, Tuesday through Sunday, and the fifth-floor tourist information center from 10:00 to 20:00 daily. General admission is free; separately announced programs may charge a fee. HiKR Ground is a reasonable stop for general K-content and travel information, but visitors should not expect the ended KBF Beauty House program.

The former festival space had a much more specific purpose. According to the official Beauty House page, the temporary zones included personal-color analysis, curated brand booths, AI-mirror hair consulting, idol-style makeup demonstrations, wellness activities, traditional herbal craft sessions and one-to-one classes. Those details are useful as a record of what the 2026 physical event contained. They should not be presented as current walk-in services after July 19.

What to do if you wanted the in-person event

If your main interest was a personal-color consultation or beauty lesson, the ended festival does not make the trip impossible. It changes the booking method. Use the online promotion while it remains scheduled, or research an independent studio with a current calendar. TrendKorea’s K-beauty travel guide for Seoul explains how to choose among a consultation, service and shopping visit without treating them as the same experience.

Travelers who prefer browsing to a scheduled appointment can build a retail stop instead. Seoul’s large beauty stores and brand spaces let you compare textures and shades, although a shop tester or cosmetic scanner is not clinical advice. The guide to beauty shopping at Olive Young N Seongsu covers queue etiquette, shared testers and a slower method for making purchase decisions.

Do not substitute an unrelated HiKR Ground visit for the appointment you wanted. A general K-content venue, a personal-color studio and a makeup service offer different outcomes. Choosing the correct category first will save more time than chasing a festival label that no longer refers to an on-site program.

After September 30

The official schedule gives September 30 as the final day of the KBF Special Promotions period. After that date, treat all 2026 festival components as ended unless KTO publishes an extension or a new program. A partner platform may continue selling an individual salon, wellness or tour product, but continued availability would be that platform’s regular inventory rather than proof that the 2026 festival is still running.

For travel through September 30: begin at the official KBF promotion page, select a participating OTA that serves your language, and verify the exact appointment date, service inclusions, provider address and cancellation terms before payment.

For later travel: search by the service you actually want—personal color, makeup, hair, skincare or wellness—and confirm current availability directly on the booking page. Do not plan around the old HiKR Ground festival schedule.
